Admissions
Joining Fulbrook
Prospective students may visit the school at any time by prior appointment. They may also attend our Open Evening in October.
We have an Admissions Policy which can be viewed by clicking the link below. This policy complies with the Admissions Code of Practice.
Fulbrook caters for students between the ages of 9 - 16.
The school has an agreed admission number of 50 for entry to Year 5 and 120 for entry to Year 7. Please note, that children already on the schools roll prior to moving into Year 7, will automatically move into this year group without the need to reapply for a place. This is likely to be approximately 60 students, meaning that there will be a further 60 places available for entry into Year 7 from September 2024.
The school will retain Year 10 students into Year 11 as it makes the full transition to extended secondary provision (Year 5 to 11) over the next year. The published admission number (PAN) for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 is 120; the school will admit up to 60 in Years 5 and 6.
The Governing Body, as the admission authority, determines the school’s Admissions Policy and arrangements and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admission. The Governing Body works with the Local Authority in order to ensure admissions are co-ordinated across the Local Authority area.
Entry Point 1 (Year 5) - 50 Places
Should the number of applications for admission exceed 50, the Governors will apply the following criteria, in the rank shown, to decide the order in which places will be allocated:1. All ‘looked after’ children and all children who were previously ‘looked after’ (see definitions);
2. Students who have attended Fulbrook’s feeder schools i.e. Aspley Guise, Husborne Crawley, Ridgmont and Woburn Lower Schools;
3. Students living in the catchment area (to include the 'Parklands' Development), with siblings at the school (see definition of sibling and catchment area);
4. Other students living in the catchment area (to include the ‘Parklands’ Development), and Service Children with a confirmed posting to the catchment area or crown servants returning from overseas to live in the catchment area;
5. ‘Very exceptional’ medical grounds (see definition);
6. Other siblings (see definition);
7. Children of staff working at Fulbrook;
8. Any other children.
Entry Point 2 (Year 7) - 120 Places
Please note: children already on the schools roll prior to moving into Year 7, will automatically move into this year group without the need to reapply for a place. This is expected to be approximately 60 students. Should the number of applications for admission mean that the total number of students will exceed 120, the Governors will apply the following criteria, in the rank shown, to decide the order in which places will be allocated:
1. All ‘looked after’ children and all children who were previously ‘looked after’ (see definitions);
2. Students who have attended Swallowfield Primary School which is Fulbrook’s main feeder for Year 7;
3. Students living in the catchment area (to include the 'Parklands' Development), with siblings at the school (see definition of sibling and catchment area);
4. Other students living in the catchment area (to include the ‘Parklands’ Development), and Service Children with a confirmed posting to the catchment area or crown servants returning from overseas to live in the catchment area;
5. ‘Very exceptional’ medical grounds (see definition);
6. Other siblings (see definition);
7. Children of staff working at Fulbrook;
8. Any other children.

Proposed Admissions Policies for 2024-25 and 2025-26 through the transition period.
We have made suggested amendments to our Admissions Policy for pupil intake in 2023-24. This is part of our proposal to become an extended Secondary school from 2022 and the transition to a full Secondary school over the following 3 years.
The consultation has now been completed and the 2023-24 Admissions Policy has been agreed.
Please click on the buttons above to view the proposed Admissions Policies for 2024-25 and 2025-26. These will help to show the transition in context.
