Student Voice and Leadership
Student Voice forms part of Fulbrook School’s student leadership programme, with the aim to, not only increase student participation in the running of the school, but to instil skills for life.Â
Student Voice groups include:
- School Council
- Prefects
- Sports Leaders and leaders/ambassadors in other subject areas
- Peer Mentors
Student Voice enables students to help shape the day-to-day and future needs of the school community. Surveys are issued and meetings organised, which includes the popular Headteacher Afternoon Tea. Student opinions, concerns and suggestions are sought and students are invited to join student leadership groups, with some elected to demonstrate democracy at work in the school.
Any issues or matters arising from Student Voice are presented to senior members of staff and governors and assemblies are held to create awareness of matters that are being addressed. Students contribute also to the review of policies, such as Behaviour and Relationships (including Anti-Bullying) and Wellbeing. They also take part in the planning of key events, including culture days.
