Fulbrook School Commended in Latest Ofsted Report

24 February 2026

Fulbrook is celebrating a highly-positive Ofsted report, following a recent visit by inspectors. In the report, which graded the school as meeting the expected standard across all six core areas of the renewed framework, the inspectors praised leaders for successfully transforming the culture of the school, which they recognised as an ‘inclusive, respectful environment, where all are welcomed and supported to learn.’

Ofsted acknowledged the work undertaken by the school, a recently converted extended secondary for children aged 9-16, for designing a curriculum that ‘is ambitious and sets out precisely the key knowledge pupils should learn progressively’. Consequently, ‘Pupils who join the school in Year 5, including disadvantaged pupils, achieve very well at GCSE.’

Staff were commended for their accurate understanding of teaching and inspectors found that the school has ‘an ambitious programme of professional development to ensure that teachers have expertise in the subject they teach.’

Inspectors praised pupils who are ‘well behaved, polite and respectful’ and that their ‘acceptance of individual differences is just one example of how well they are prepared for life in modern Britain.’

Working tirelessly to ensure that Fulbrook is the school of choice in the local area, Headteacher, Sam Clancy said:

“We are thrilled that Ofsted has recognised the progress made by the school since it became an extended secondary and we are grateful for the support received from colleagues, since we joined Kingsbridge Educational Trust in 2024.

“Improving the experience for every young person has been our priority at Fulbrook and Ofsted’s comments are a testament to the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and the positive attitudes of our students. We shall strive to work hard to build on this momentum.”

Proud of the outcome, and delighted that Ofsted has recognised the progress Fulbrook School has made following its transition, Peter Barnes, Kingsbridge Educational Trust’s CEO added:

“Our ambition is to ensure that every child receives an exceptional education and Fulbrook is firmly on that path. Ofsted’s feedback recognises the school’s determination to uphold the high expectations embedded throughout the school community and reinforces their commitment to continuous improvement.”
